Memorial Day is around the corner and there is great importance in spending the day remembering and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice . Here are some events that are going on this weekend according to news4jax.com.

Void’s Charity Golf Outing – Running Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. this is a 21 and up event; enjoy golf, complimentary food provided by Tijuana Flats, as well as complementary drinks. There are many prizes to be won at this golf event.

Party at Salt, The Wreck and Myth – Sunday attendees that are 21 or older can enjoy a music from over a dozen DJ’s as well as a bar located at Jacksonville Beach.

Jacksonville Jazz Fest – Thursday through Sunday; enjoy food, drinks, and plenty of entertainment at the annual Jacksonville Jazz Fest. The event is located in the downtown Jacksonville area and is completely free.

Jacksonville Symphony Patriotic Pops – Friday and Saturday the Jacksonville will honor the fallen soldiers with a concert event.

Palatka Blue Crab Festival – Friday through Sunday enjoy food trucks, music, games, and entertainment along the St. Johns River. Admission to the event is free.

Florida Folk Festival – Friday through Monday you can enjoy music, crafts, dance and food. If overnight camping is up your alley you are able to spend the night at the nearby camping grounds. This events is located at the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park.

Memorial Day Booze Cruise – Saturday for those who are 21 or older can enjoy a bus cruise through St. Augustine where you can enjoy free alcohol provided by Don Padrone Cantina. this even starts at noon and it is encouraged to have a designated driver after the event.

Jacksonville Memorial Day Observance – Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Veterans memorial wall attendees will be able to honor those who have fallen in the line of duty. Water and fans will be provided as well as free parking.

Palm Coast Memorial Day Ceremony – Monday at 8:00 a.m. at the Heroes Memorial park, those who have fallen in the line of duty will be honored

Green Cove Spring RiverFest – Monday at 10 a.m. at Springs Park there will be plenty of entertainment and food, as well as live entertainment to honor those who fell in the line of duty.

Memorial Day Beach Cleanup – Monday at 8 a.m. located at the north side of the Jacksonville pier a large cleanup event will take place, attendees are encouraged to bring a mat or towel.

5K Florida Fun Run – Monday The race will start at the Orange Park Town Hall at 8 a.m.. Registration is available online.

Memorial Concert & Picnic in the Park – Monday at 6:60 p.m. attendees can enjoy a picnic and music for free. Those who go are encouraged to dress patriotically.

Wicked Barley Brewing Company Fish Fry – Monday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. attendees can enjoy music and drinks. This is an event that the whole family can enjoy.
