The new Student Wellness Complex, located at the north end of the loop next to the Arena and the Aquatic Center, Opens August 17, and is free to currently-enrolled UNF Students and Full-time Faculty & Staff with valid Osprey ID Card. The project was funded by student government at a cost of 19.5 million dollars, and replaced the Dottie Dorion Fitness Center, which had been at UNF since 1978. The Student Wellness Complex comes equipped with and indoor track, a rock climbing wall, and an all new Jamba Juice, in addition to the usual weight lifting and aerobic equipment.
With 27,000 sq. ft of fitness space the new Student Wellness Complex is four times larger than the Dorion Fitness Center. Along with the new facilities, Campus Recreation and Health Promotions will be moving into the new building. With the Student Union, UNF Arena, the Aquatic Center, and the new Student Wellness Complex, the north end of campus has become a hub for student activity.
