Bobby Harris, a sophomore high-jumper at UNF, will compete in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials on July 8-9, in Eugene, OR.
Harris is the first-ever active UNF athlete to qualify for the Olympic Trials. He will compete against 33 other athletes, and the top 12 jumpers will move into the final round. The top three finishers in the final round will head to Rio de Janeiro to represent the United States.
Harris owns the school record for both the indoor and outdoor high jump and was one of four track and field athletes to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminaries in May. Harris set a personal-best jump of 2.20 meters at the Seminole Invitational last April.
Spinnaker will continue to follow Harris’ progress and update when more information is available.
