University President John Delaney officially asked the University Board of Trustees for permission to begin exploring the idea of adding a football team to the athletics program at UNF. Only last semester, Athletic Director Lee Moon was asked about the possibility of UNF starting a football program. His response was, "Not in my lifetime."

Will UNF Ever Have Football?

UNF athletics is a part of the Atlantic-Sun Conference. Because the A-Sun doesn't support the first step in establishing a football program would be conference realignment. According to UNF's Athletic Director Lee Moon, UNF doesn't have plans to change conferences any time soon.
