UNF’s Softball team used heads-up base running and clutch hitting throughout their doubleheader against the University of Central Florida Patriots.

Game 1

Megan Woodson led the hitting attack for the Ospreys, going 3-4 with a key double that brought in two runs.

The Patriots attempted a comeback, scoring only two runs, but couldn’t continue their momentum, which led to a 4-2 UNF victory.

Game 2

The Ospreys got on the board early in the first inning as Junior Rindy Bryant plated Senior Navia Penrod, who was 1-2 with two stolen bases and runs scored.

Freshman Paige Phent drove in a run in the same inning to extend the lead to two.

The Patriots answered back in the top of the second with an RBI single and scored another run in the third to tie the game at 2.

In the top of the fourth, the Patriots plated another run to grab the lead, 3-2.

The Ospreys tied it up in the bottom of the fifth when Penrod scored on a passed ball. The game ultimately ended in a tie after the bottom of the seventh.
