No more charges to be made for Martinez moving forward

Heydi Ortiz, Police Reporter

Former UNF student Jesse Martinez, charged with allegedly threatening to share nude photos of another student in exchange for sexual favors, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff Office, will no longer face any further charges.

Jesse Martinez was arrested on April 9.

His pre-trial, held on Tuesday morning, discussed the completion of the first set of forensic tests to determine the content on Martinez’s electronic devices. On those devices, the UNF Police Department found several files of hidden camera videos that were placed in male bathrooms in the Fountains and in the Thomas G. Library. None of the victims were aware they were being filmed.

Martinez is currently facing 17 charges of video voyeurism, one charge of misuse of a two-way communication device, and one charge of extortion.

Another pre-trial is set for Thursday, Jan. 24.
