What we got from the latest “Avengers: Endgame” trailer

It’s finally that time of year. April has set in on us and “Avengers: Endgame” is right around the corner. The latest teaser manages to show so much while also remaining vague enough to elevate fans expectations. There’s a lot to take out of it, so let’s dive in and see what’s in store for some of Earth’s mightiest heroes.

WHAT’S THE PLAN?

The remaining Avengers are mourning at the New Avengers facility in New York. Within the first few seconds of the teaser, its made quite clear that everyone is eager for a rematch against Thanos. Bruce Banner acknowledges that they would be “going in shorthanded” seeing how the Mad Titan dusted half of their friends. Natasha affirms their goals as she states “We owe this to everyone who’s not in this room to try.”

ROCKET/NEBULA TEAM UP

At the beginning of the trailer, we see Rocket quietly sitting with Nebula. Both mourning the loss of the other Guardians of the Galaxy. These two haven’t had much interaction in the previous films so it would be interesting how they come to terms with their loss and team up alongside the Avengers.

TONY AND PEPPER REUNITE

Tony finally reunites with his fiancee, Pepper Potts, who is revealed to have survived the snap. In the previous Avengers film, Infinity War, Tony said he had a dream that he and Pepper had a daughter together. Their future together is on the fence as it’s still unclear whether or not Tony will survive Endgame, or if he would retire from being a hero and settle down with his new wife to start a family.

THOR/CAPTAIN MARVEL TEAM UP

Thor summons his enchanted ax Stormbreaker in front of Captain Marvel, who seems unphased by the Asgardian weapon. Fans have already declared these two to be among the most powerful heroes in the MCU. A confrontation between the mightiest Avengers against the Mad Titan seems incredibly likely.

TONY AND STEVE MAKE UP

Halfway through the trailer, Tony is seen reconciling with Steve in what appears to be downtown New York (the first Avengers perhaps?). The feud between these two dates back to 2016 with “Captain America: Civil War.” The film ended with both the Avengers team fractured and Tony and Steve going their separate ways. Many would argue these events have left the world vulnerable to Thanos’s quest for the Infinity stones in Infinity War. Tony realizes that to restore the universe they have to put aside their ongoing feud and team up for the greater good and asks Steve if he trusts him. Steve couldn’t agree more and complies as they both shake hands.

AN EPIC FINALE

The team is then seen flying in the Guardians ship into lightspeed. They prepare themselves as they face off against Thanos’s massive warship. Thanos himself narrates “You could not live with your own failure and where did that bring you?” Thanos then appears in full armor and sporting the completed Infinity Gauntlet as he finishes with “Back to me.” The MCU trinity consisting of Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor is then seen confronting what appears to be Thanos on a war-torn battlefield.

Many of these predictions seem likely with the amount of evidence building towards them. Though the only way to find out if they are true is to see the film on April 26th this month. If you haven’t bought your tickets already, what are you waiting for?
