May’s late-inning heroics lead Ospreys in walk-off victory

A walk-off sacrifice fly from Junior Tanner May lifted the Ospreys over the Owls for a 3-2 win.

Redshirt-Senior Wes Weeks got the offense going early in the third inning for the Ospreys with a two-run dinger to left field for a 2-0 Ospreys lead.

Senior Nick Marchese had a dominant start as he went six and two thirds innings with two unearned runs, three hits, and six punchouts.

After two consecutive errors by the Ospreys in the seventh, two runners trotted past home plate to tie up the game at two.

With runners on first and third in the bottom of the ninth, May lined a fly ball to left field and Senior Alex Hendricks scored the game-winning run as the Ospreys topped the Owls, 3-2.

Worth Noting

Redshirt-Junior Eddie Miller picked up the third win of the season after his outing of two and a thirds innings, allowing two hits and punching out two.

The win improves UNF to 30-20 (11-8 ASUN) and the loss drops Kennesaw State to 23-28 (8-12 ASUN).

The final game of the series is slated for Sunday, May 12 at 1:05 p.m.
