The Hatters struck in the bottom of the first when Junior Jorge Arenas scored on a throwing error for an early 1-0 Hatters lead.

Sophomore Eric Foggo scored on a fielder’s choice in the third for an insurance run as Stetson led, 2-0.

Depperman’s final line for the night was seven shutout innings, allowed two hits, and punched out nine.

The Hatters sent Freshman Daniel Paret to the bump as he went eight innings, allowed no runs, and picked up the win.

Worth Noting

Only Junior Blake Marabell and Redshirt-Senior Wes Weeks recorded a hit in the game.

The Ospreys left seven men on base in the 2-0 loss.

The loss drops UNF to 30-22 (11-10 ASUN) and the win improves Stetson to 23-29 (10-11 ASUN).

Both teams square off in game two of the series on Friday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m.
