UNF will be launching a new Health Administration masters program online
July 3, 2019
The Department of Health Administration is launching a new online Executive Master of Health Administration program in August.
The program will require 30-credit hours, which can be completed in as little as two years. It will provide students with critical thinking, analytical and ethical skills that can be used to prosper in challenging business environments, according to UNF’s Public Relations Specialist.
The EMHA program was designed for working healthcare professionals. Healthcare workers will now be able to balance work while simultaneously going through the online program to move further in their careers.
“The EMHA program will allow our students to gain top leadership positions in leading national and regional health care organizations,” said UNF EMHA program director and associate professor, Dr. Cynthia Williams.
You must have the following to be admitted to the program:
- At least five years of health care experience.
- Current employment in the human services or health field.
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with at least a 3.0 GPA
- A letter of interest and two letters of recommendation.
- Having or planning on having manager experience in the field.
If there’s proof of exceptional work experience and letters of recommendation, exceptions can be made.
“We’re proud to be training the next leaders of the 21st century who will manage the most complex healthcare organizations in history,” said Dr. Mei Zhao, UNF Department of Health Administration chair. “Our competency-based curriculum includes the theoretical foundations that have guided business leaders for decades as well as the new skills and expertise needed to meet the growing expectations of the industry.”
