The Fire drew first blood with a goal by Uchenna Kanu with less than six minutes left in the first period for a 1-0 lead.

The Fire’s lead was extinguished when UNF’s Karina Bermudez put one through the net to tie it up at one with 17:50 left in the second period.

The Ospreys let loose in the third period when Sydney Hauth scored her first goal as an Osprey. Shortly after, a goal from Julia Martin extended UNF’s lead to 3-1 with eight minutes left in the third period.

The Fire couldn’t ignite a spark as the Ospreys finished strong with a 3-1 win.

The UNF Women’s Soccer team travels to Conway, South Carolina to play Coastal Carolina on Thursday, August 22 at 6:00 p.m.
