Despite a late goal from the Ospreys in the second half to tie it up, both squads couldn’t find the net as the game ended in a tie after double overtime.

Maci Bower opened up the scoring for La Salle with a goal in the 53rd minute on an assist from Emily Banashefski and Sarah DeBerardinis.

After a stalemate where it seemed like La Salle was going to escape with a 1-0 home win, Thais Rheiss had other plans as she received a dime from Kendra Hoffman in the 88th minute to record her second goal of the season and tied the game up at two to force overtime.

In both overtimes, no teams had luck putting points on the board as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Rheiss led the Ospreys in shots (6) and four were on goal. USF transfer, Leah Ferlin, fired two shots of her own as Hoffman and Cedeno also recorded a shot apiece.

Goalkeepers Rhiannon Conelley and Kelli Crowley each finished with three saves.

The Ospreys remain on the road as they take on Presbyterian on Friday, August 30 at 4 p.m.
