After a scoreless first half, Bryson Smith was able to push past Stetson’s defenders and score in the 64th minute on an assist by Jake Hawker and Nick Lodovico.

“We got the ball out wide and Jake beat a man and put a great ball across,” Smith said. “I couldn’t do anything but score.”

A minute later, the Ospreys scored again on a dazed Hatter’s defense with a goal by Landen Haig.

UNF’s defense was able to hold Stetson to minimal offense until the 73rd minute when an altercation in the box led to a penalty kick from Sebastian Chalbaud that found the net for the Hatters.

“There were a couple of pushes but nothing major,” Smith said. “The play got a little bit heated but it was all good.”

Tonight’s victory moves the Osprey’s record to 4-5-2 (3-1-1 ASUN) while the Hatters drop to 7-6-2 ( 3-1-1 ASUN).

The team heads up to Nashville on Saturday, October 26 to face Lipscomb University at 8:00 p.m.
