Jaguars look to ground struggling Jets

Zach Yearwood, Sports Reporter

The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4) will look to take down the New York Jets (1-5) at home on Sunday, October 27 after pouncing on the Cincinnati Bengals last week, 27-17.

The Jets, on the other hand, were trounced by the Patriots, 33-0, on Monday Night Football. What started off as a hopeful season for them went downhill quickly due to injuries.

Minshew Mania could be coming to a close as this may be one of the last games we see Gardner Minshew II play this season.

Nick Foles has returned to practice and could play as early as next week. The starting quarterback for the Jaguars has not played since breaking his collarbone in Week 1.

Here are a few keys to the game:

Le’Veon Bell vs Jacksonville’s run defense

The Jaguars’ run defense has been dreadful this season. On top of that, the team is missing multiple starting linebackers and its premier run stuffer, Marcell Dareus.

Going against one of the top running backs in the league will serve as a tough test for the Jags.

DJ Chark

Chark has excelled this season with 33 catches for 581 yards and five touchdowns. Not only has he solidified himself as the number one option for the Jaguars, but also as one of the most dynamic young receivers in the NFL. The Jets are also among the bottom ten teams in passing defense. The matchup should be a fun one to watch.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST.
