After a successful 21-12 (13-3 ASUN) season, UNF men’s basketball head coach Matthew Driscoll earned a contract extension ($185,960 per year) through the 2024-25 season.
According to UNF Athletics, “The deal extends Driscoll from the end of his current contract in May of 2022 through May of 2025,”.
Within the contract, UNF will continue to lease an automobile for Driscoll and provide liability and insurance to cover.
An interesting incentive is that Driscoll can earn $5,000 if, “at least 550 men’s intercollegiate basketball season tickets for seats in the lower bowl of the UNF Arena are sold at the general public and/or faculty/staff rates during any year,” according to the contract.
Last season, the Ospreys were fourth in the ASUN in attendance with an average of 1,939 fans per game.
In the Driscoll era, the eleventh year coach has an 184-179 career record at UNF with three ASUN Regular Season Championships and a trip to March Madness back in 2015.
Under his wing, the Birds of Trey have led the NCAA in three-pointers made twice in program history.
