Jesse Martinez pleaded not guilty to one count of voyeurism in court on August 15. This charge is one of the eight charges filed in July by UNFPD when police found files from a hidden camera in a Fountains dorm bathroom showing a male student. The seven other charges were dropped by the prosecution.
Martinez is facing a total of three counts of voyeurism, one count of misuse of a two-way communication device, and one count of extortion. If found guilty of all charges, Martinez may face a maximum sentence of 35 years in Florida state prison. He is also facing a violation of probation from Alachua County.
Martinez is due in court on Sept. 4 and 5.
