It was a tough weekend for basketball as both Men’s and Women’s basketball teams suffered losses.

Men’s Basketball went on the road to take on Wright State as part of their Cancun Challenge. The Ospreys jumped out to an early lead, but could not hold on as the Raiders began knocking down threes to the lead and head into the half ahead by double-digits. During the second half, the Ospreys struggled to cut the deficit. Wright State continued to dial-up threes and rack up trips to the free-throw line. The game ended in an 89-72 defeat. Juniors Noah Horchler and Garrett Sams both scored 16 points for the Ospreys.

Women’s Basketball lost on the road to the Indiana Hoosiers, 75-52. The Hoosiers controlled the boards by outrebounding the Ospreys, 40-23. The Hoosiers also stifled the Ospreys offense and held them to seven points in the opening quarter. Despite outscoring Indiana in points off, turnovers and bench points, it wasn’t enough to beat the Hoosiers as the Ospreys suffered a 72-55 loss. Sophomore Tiffany Tolbert led all scorers with 21 and Freshman Lauren Gross scored 8 points from the bench.

The Men’s team will take on Southern Mississippi in Cancun on Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. The Women’s team will face Charleston Southern at home on Nov.29 at 5:30 p.m.
