Burglary reported in the student dorms

Hannah Lee, Editor-in-Chief

The University sent out an alert Monday afternoon telling students that a burglary occurred on campus sometime between Friday, Feb. 8 and Sunday evening, Feb. 10. The reported burglary occurred at Osprey Crossings, Bldg. R.

The student who reported the crime was away for the weekend and when she returned, a pair of shoes and sunglasses were missing from her room. Her roommate was away for the weekend as well.

There were no signs of forced entry, according to the alert, but the students stated that there have been issues in the past with the door latch. The latch was repaired Monday after the students reported the incident.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact UNF Police Department at (904) 620-2800 or confidentially by filing out the Silent Witness Form.

The university reminds students that if they are having issues with door latches, they should fill out a Housing and Residence Life maintenance request here.
