Ospreys hit their stride at ASUN Track and Field Indoor Conference Championships

In the ASUN Track & Field Conference Championships, both the UNF Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams had impressive showings.

For the UNF Women’s team, Freshman Sonja Andenmatten set a school-record in the 800-meter with a time of 2:07.15 to win gold. Junior Skye Zeller set a new personal record in the 800-meter with a time of 2:12, finishing fourth.

Freshman Camryn Cooney finished in third in the 5,000-meter with a time of 17:35 and Senior Audrey Carpenter finished sixth with a time of 17:44. Freshman Kaley Petrosky finished fourth in the high jump with 1.65 meters. Overall, the Women’s team finished fourth place in the ASUN Championships.

For the Men’s team, Freshman Timothy Doyle finished third in the mile with a 4:12 time and Sophomore Leo Queyrou recorded a time of 4:14 in a fourth place finish. Junior George Escobar finished with a time of 48.66 in the 400-meters to come out in fourth place. Escobar wasn’t finished as she won a silver medal in the 800-meter with a time of 1:52.

Junior Noah Perkins earned second place in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:21 and Freshman Nathan Jubran later finished in fourth place in a 14:49 time. In the 4×400 relay, the Ospreys earned silver with impressive performances by Sophomore Spencer Shaw, Escobar, Junior Michael Alexander, and Senior Chris Robin to finish with a school record time of 3:17.

The Ospreys next meet is the UNF Spring Invitational on Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22.
