The Ospreys steamrolled past the UNA Lions in a 10-4 win with a heavy hitting offense.

Redshirt-Senior Wes Weeks began his trio of home runs in the top of the second. as he sent one over the fence for a two-run jack. Sophomore Abraham Sequera chipped in with a sac fly RBI to push the Ospreys to an early 3-0 lead.

Sequera came back up to the plate in the fourth and delivered with an RBI single to score one as the Ospreys led, 4-0.

The Ospreys continued to see the ball well as Junior Austin Hurwitz doubled in a run in the fifth and Weeks smashed his second home run to plate two as the Ospreys were up, 7-0.

The Lions tried to roar back in the fifth with RBI’s by Redshirt-Freshman Harris Kain and Redshirt-Senior Davis Elliott and cut the deficit to 7-2, Ospreys.

That rally was short lived and Seniors Chris Berry and Jay Prather drove in runs of their own in the sixth to pad the lead to 9-2.

Weeks hit his third and final homer of the day in the seventh and cemented the 10-4 win.

Worth Noting

Senior Brad Depperman went six innings of two-run ball in his start and punched out eight.

Senior Alex Reynolds doubled twice in the game.

The win improves the Ospreys record to 23-16 (8-5 ASUN) and the loss drops the Lions to 10-27 (4-9 ASUN).

The Ospreys battle it out with the Lions on Friday, April 19 at noon.
