Ospreys in the pros: Baseball edition

The minor leagues is a long grind for any player and this update of former Ospreys shows their progress climbing the ladder in the 2019 season.
Donnie Dewees: The outfielder for the Chicago Cubs’ AAA affiliate, the Iowa Cubs, has hit .281 in his last 10 games with six RBI’s.
Drew Weeks: The eldest of UNF’s Weeks brothers is currently with the Colorado Rockies’ AAA affiliate, the Albuquerque Isotopes. Weeks has recorded 10 RBI’s in his last 10 games and currently sits at a .719 OPS.
Bryan Baker: After a strong first half with the Toronto Blue Jays AA affiliate, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (40 strikeouts in 32 innings, nine saves), Baker was recently promoted to the AAA affiliate Buffalo Bisons.
Austin Drury: The Los Angeles Dodgers’ selection in round 34 of the 2018 MLB Draft was named a Midwest League All Star as Drury sported a 2.39 ERA with the Dodgers Class A affiliate, Great Lakes Loons. Drury was promoted to High-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes where he currently holds a 4.00 ERA.
Frank German: The New York Yankees’ pick in round four of the 2018 MLB Draft is currently pitching for their High-A affiliate, Tampa Tarpons. In German’s last start, he tossed five innings of two-hit ball while punching out six batters.
Tanner Murphy: The Jacksonville native hit his first minor league home run on Monday, July 1 for the New York Mets Rookie Advanced affiliate, Kingsport Mets.
Nick Marchese: The Former Ospreys hurler is now on the Arizona Diamondbacks Rookie Advanced affiliate, the Missoula Osprey. Marchese is sporting a 2-1 record with a 4.15 ERA.
Brad Depperman: Depperman hasn’t been assigned to an official affiliate of the Chicago Cubs yet, according to milb.com.
These former Ospreys have been promoted, made personal milestones, and more on their quest to the bigs.
