Ospreys lose close bout with Eagles

The UNF Men’s Soccer team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Georgia Southern after allowing a game-winning goal late in the second half.

Jake Hawker got the Ospreys on the board first with a goal in the 14th minute for an early 1-0 lead.

The Eagles quickly countered with a goal themselves by Adam Davie on a penalty kick in the 17th minute.

The Ospreys back line tightened up in the second half, only allowing two shots.

Aldair Cortes was the hero for Georgia Southern as he fired a shot that made it’s way in for a 2-1 lead in the 89th minute.

The Ospreys didn’t have much time to counter, resulting in a 2-1 home loss.

Georgia Southern improves to 3-1-0 and UNF drops to 1-2-0.

The UNF Men’s Soccer team heads south to play FIU on Tuesday, September 17 at 7 p.m.
