Went got the Ospreys on the board with a laser past Liberty’s goalkeeper in the 24th minute for a 1-0 lead.

At the end of the first half, the Ospreys back line limited the Flames to one shot to preserve their lead.

The second half was controlled by the Ospreys back line as the Flames yet again were held to one shot as UNF earned a 1-0 win.

UNF Men’s Soccer Head Coach Derek Marinatos discussed his takeaways from the win.

“I’m proud of the guys. We closed out the game, we got a shutout at home, we got three points in conference. It’s the start we talked about,” Coach Marinatos said.

The Ospreys now improve to 2-2-1 (1-0 ASUN) and the Flames drop to 3-4-0 (0-1 ASUN).

UNF’s next game is at home on Tuesday, September 24 against UNF at 7 p.m.
