Cat Fight: Jaguars and Panthers face off in Week 5 matchup

Zach Yearwood, Sports Reporter

After a strong come-from-behind victory in Denver last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2) are on the road again to face the Carolina Panthers (2-2) in a battle of the expansion teams.

The Jaguars defense will have its star cornerback out once again. Jalen Ramsey will miss his second consecutive game due to a reported back injury. After requesting a trade two weeks ago and missing practice last week to attend the birth of his daughter, Ramsey did not participate in practice at all this week because of the injury.

Ramsey is not the only potential missing link in the Jaguars’ secondary. The third corner on the depth chart, D.J. Hayden is also listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. The second-year corner has flourished in the past few weeks.

On the offensive side, running back Leonard Fournette will look to replicate his performance against the Broncos. He posted 225 yards last Sunday and will be hungry for more touches. Gardner Minshew II to DJ Chark is also a connection to look out for. Chark has broken out this season, posting 321 yards and three touchdowns through four games. Minshew has found his favorite target and will try to get him going early on Sunday.

The Jaguars quarterback was able to pull off some Minshew magic late in the game against the Broncos last week. Will he be able to replicate those heroics on Sunday?

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST.
