Spinnaker FM radio and other funding approved in AOC meeting

UNF alumnus honors grandfather’s farm with photo exhibit

The Lufrano Intercultural Gallery 's most recent exhibit includes photographs by Jacksonville native and UNF alumnus Douglas J. Eng. His exhibit, "On Fertile Ground: The Wing Lee Yuen Truck Farm," depicts his grandfather's farm, which produced Chinese produce in Jacksonville from the 1950s-70s.

UNF students experiment on zero gravity in NASA plane

Eight UNF students rode NASA's "Vomit Comet," a plane that simulates reduced gravity for 15 to 30 seconds. While on the plane, the students conducted a test on the flow of fluids in zero gravity.

UNF chemistry program to host renowned scientist in 2015

UNF's Department of Chemistry was awarded the Jean Dreyfus Boissevain Lectureship for Undergraduate Institutions for the 2015 year. This award provides an $18,500 grant to the program, which will be used to allow two undergraduates to conduct summer research, and a well-known researcher to give a lecture to students.

Students’ financial aid able to purchase parking passes come Fall 2014

Starting Fall 2014 students can pay for parking permits using their financial aid. Parking and Transportation Services has also changed other parts of parking permits, such as colors and daily rates. Other changes PTS is implementing include changes to the ticket appeal process, and the addition of an additional garage in the latter half of the academic school year.

UNF's new Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services, Albert Colom, has goals to improve the university's admission process, while continuing the admittance of high-achieving students into UNF. UNF's First Time in College freshmen and graduates respectively have higher test scores and first-year wages than other universities.
