Jaguars pull off comeback win in Denver

Zach Yearwood, Sports Reporter

Late game heroics from Gardner Minshew II and the Jaguars offense set Josh Lambo up for a 33-yard game-winning field goal against the Broncos this past Sunday in a 26-24 win.

After trailing 17-3 in the second quarter, the Jaguars scored 20 unanswered points including two third-quarter touchdowns from Minshew. The Broncos reclaimed the lead with a touchdown late in the fourth.

Down one point with 1:32 left on the clock, the Jaguars offense needed to drive the ball down the field and score to win the game. The Jaguars rookie quarterback produced some Minshew magic and moved the ball to Denver’s 15-yard line, setting up a Josh Lambo game-winning field goal as the clock expired.

Minshew mania continues to run wild after the quarterback completed his first successful comeback win. As the legend of Gardner Minshew II grows, the Jaguars consistently show improvement from week to week.

Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette had a game to remember. The third-year player posted 225 yards on 29 carries including an 81-yard run to set up a touchdown for his team.

The win takes the Jaguars to 2-2 on the season, matching the records of all three division rivals: the Colts, Texans and Titans. Denver’s loss moves them down to 0-4. The Broncos have now lost eight straight regular season games, stretching back to last season.

The Jaguars will travel to Charlotte next weekend to take on the Carolina Panthers (2-2). Kickoff is scheduled at 1:00 EST.
