Glued to the screen: CW’s “Nancy Drew” premiers tomorrow night
October 8, 2019
CW is taking a mature approach with their new crime-drama series, “Nancy Drew.” Similar to another CW series, “Riverdale,” the characters and setting is based on past children’s (comics/books) media, but is transformed to entertain today’s teen audience.
Fans who grew up reading the books and plan to watch the show are certainly interested in this mature perspective of the Nancy Drew universe. Here are some replies to the “Nancy Drew” Twitter page:
@_delaneyjoyce are u ready to have ur childhood hero destroyed in a CW adaptation?

I hope it’s not some bizarre reimagining like Riverdale is. The show Riverdale has nothing to do with the Archie comics of yore.

In the series, “Nancy Drew,” mourning the loss of her mother and her college dreams, is miserably working at a diner when a mystery falls in her lap. With a group of friends, she spirals into a world of mysterious ghosts and chilling suspense.
The series premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. on the CW channel.
