Hoosiers power past Ospreys

When the Ospreys faced the No. 14 Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington on Saturday night, the Hoosiers dominated in a 72-45 win.

Coming into Saturday’s game, the UNF Women’s Basketball team hasn’t upset a Top 25 team since topping No. 25 FGCU, 75-73, two seasons ago. 

The Hoosiers owned the first quarter with a 17-6 lead but the Ospreys chipped away in the second quarter, outscoring Indiana, 13-11. 

At halftime, the Hoosiers led, 28-19. Rhetta Moore and Victoria Patrick led the Ospreys with six points apiece. 

The Ospreys remained within striking distance in the third quarter until Indiana finished strong to end the quarter with a 47-30 lead. 

From the fourth quarter on, the Hoosiers continued distancing themselves from UNF with a 72-45 win when the final buzzer sounded. 

Janesha Green led the Ospreys in scoring with 13 points and Moore was close behind with 12 of her own. 

On the interior, Adrienne Jackson led the team with nine rebounds and Jazz Bond pulled down seven. 

Up next, the Ospreys travel to Tallahassee to take on the No. 8/10 Florida State Seminoles on Wednesday, December 18 at 7:00 p.m.
